The Associate Vice President, Research IT and Scientific Computing reports to the Chief Information Officer and is a member of the senior IT leadership team. This is a highly collaborative role, that works closely with Research leaders, the Chief Information Officer, and peers to ensure that technology solutions are technically and financially viable and designed to meet the needs of the business. You enjoy working with partners to solve complex business problems across diverse scientific divisions and an array of external partners. The Associate Vice President, Research IT and Scientific Computing is the leader of the Research IT and Scientific Computing team, accountable for all activities related to Fred Hutch’s research technology environment including building strategic plans, leading managers of high-performance computing, shared services instrumentation, business relationship management, and applications support teams. You are a strategic leader who understands the modern technology environment and has built organizations around excellence.
The successful candidate is a senior technology leader who has a record of accomplishment in building close relationships with a diverse set of scientists, researchers, and business stakeholders, advising researchers during the grant writing process, leading enterprise-grade research facing applications, and executing complex technology projects.
